The Sousa Band gave a Grand Concert at Craigmiles Opera House in Cleveland, Tennessee, on January 30, 1906. A memorial to that event was presented on October 11, 2004, by Lee University, with Dr. Paul Conn as president, the Lee University Wind Ensemble, Dr. David R. Holsinger as conductor, the John Phillip Sousa Foundation, Douglas Harter as project chair, Col. John Bourgeois as president, and Dr. A.G. Wright as chairman.
