Geronimo Springs Museum in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, introduces the long human and natural history of Sierra County. Named through the local hot springs for the Chiricahua Apache leader Geronimo, it holds fossils, photographs, artifacts, pottery, and a miner’s cabin from the Black Range. Its collections include Mimbres and Tularosa ceramics from about 200 AD to 1350 AD, as well as Apache, Hispanic, military, mining, and ranching materials. It also connects regional history to the town’s modern identity through Ralph Edwards and the radio and television show Truth or Consequences, which led Hot Springs to adopt its present name. A representation of Geronimo was stolen from the facade in 2021.
