The Ottawa Methodist Church was organized in 1857, and its stone building was erected in 1859 by the Methodists of this community. For 90 years it served as a place of worship and education. The church building is one of the three oldest Methodist church buildings in Minnesota and is preserved as a historical site in memory of the Christian pioneers of Ottawa, LeSueur County, Minnesota.
