The Jefferson City Formation, also known as the Jefferson City Dolomite, is a geologic formation in the Ozarks of Missouri and Arkansas. In northern Arkansas, part of it is not differentiated from the Cotter Formation. It preserves fossils from the Ordovician period, making it part of the Ozarks’ ancient rock record and an important fossil-bearing unit in the region.
