The Fighting 36th Infantry Division served in the campaigns of Anzio, Ardennes-Alsace, Rome-Arno, Naples-Foggia, Southern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe, and took part in amphibious landings at Salerno and in Southern France. Its units included the 141st Infantry Regiment, 142nd Infantry Regiment, 143rd Infantry Regiment, 131st Artillery Battalion, 132nd Artillery Battalion, 133 Artillery Battalion, 155th Artillery Battalion, 111th Engineer Battalion, 111th Medical Battalion, 36th Quartermaster, Special Troops, and 144th Infantry Regiment.
