Frazier’s Chapel was built by Rev. Freeborn Garrettson and Captain William Frazier. Early Methodist pastors included Jesse Lee, Joseph Everette, and Bishops Francis Asbury and John Emory. It was remodeled and named Bethesda in 1849. The present church was built in 1875 and rebuilt in 1958.
