Coxsackie Light was a Hudson River lighthouse near Coxsackie, New York, at the northern end of Low Island on the west side of the main channel. The station was established in 1830, and its final tower was first lit in 1868. That structure was a red square tower with granite trim, attached to a red dwelling on a stone pier and topped by a black lantern housing. Standing 32 feet high, it displayed a fixed white beam through a sixth-order Fresnel lens. Deactivated in 1940, it remains part of the recorded history of Hudson River lights and survives in period images, including Smithsonian-held postcards.
