Franz Jevne State Park is a small Minnesota park on the Rainy River in the far north of the state, between International Falls and Baudette. The river forms the border between the United States and Canada, giving the park a quiet setting along an international waterway. Covering 118 acres, it is Minnesota’s smallest state park by area. The Franz Jevne family donated the land, and the Minnesota Legislature established the park in 1967. Though modest in size, it is part of a rich northern landscape inhabited by beaver, timber wolf, and moose, with the Rainy River attracting songbirds, woodpeckers, pelicans, and bald eagles.
