In 1924, the Cridersville School District built its first gymnasium behind the school on S. Waverly Street that had been built in 1907. Known as the Community Hall, it hosted many community events and, besides its basketball court, contained a stage used for plays, band concerts, and graduation ceremonies. On its court, Cridersville’s boys and girls basketball teams competed against area rivals before standing-room-only crowds, and local teams were often very successful, frequently winning county championships. In 1941, the boys team won the district championship. The Community Hall was replaced by a much larger gymnasium in 1952, attached to the school built on this site in 1939. A new elementary school built in 2009 on Reichelderfer Road included a new gymnasium and stage for the community.
