Green Mountain is a prominent mesa in Lakewood, Colorado, on the eastern flank of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. Rising to 6,854 feet within William Frederick Hayden Park, about 4.0 miles west of the city’s municipal center, it is often called a mountain but is distinguished by its broad summit rather than the sharper profile of nearby peaks. The feature was also known historically as Hendricks Peak and Mount Hendricks, and the name Green Mountain is recorded from 1906. Today it remains one of Lakewood’s most recognizable natural landmarks, linking an urban setting to the larger Front Range landscape.
