Mashpee River Reservation protects part of the Mashpee River in Mashpee, Massachusetts, a five-mile tidal river running from Mashpee and Wakeby Ponds to Pirate's Cove on Popponesset Bay. Owned and maintained by The Trustees of Reservations, it includes woodland and shoreline trails that connect with the Cape Cod Pathways network and nearby conservation lands. The river is prized for its natural shoreline, clean water, and spawning habitat, which make it one of Massachusetts' finest sources of sea-run brook trout. The reservation grew from local conservation efforts beginning by 1915, including land assembled by John W. Farley, donated for public use in 1959, and later expansions in 1979 and 1998.
