Old Columbia Cemetery stands on a site given by the Josiah H. Bell family from their grant, the first deeded to one of the Old 300 in Stephen F. Austin's colony. It contains the graves of many heroes of the Texas Revolution of 1836. The cemetery was deeded in 1852 to Bethel Presbyterian Church and has been managed since 1933 by the Columbia Cemetery Association.
