A prayer commends to Almighty God the souls of departed brothers and sisters who were faithful in peace and in war to the principles on which the nation is founded and mindful to keep it a nation under God, asking that they be granted a place in God's kingdom where they may rest from earthly labors and serve in new and glorious ways, to the honor and praise of God's holy name.
