Nature
Brushy Peak is a 1,686-foot summit in California’s Diablo Range north of the Livermore Valley. Also known as Brushy Knob or Las Cuevas, meaning “The Caves,” it overlooks the valley and serves as the centerpiece of Brushy Peak Regional Preserve. The summit is reached through the preserve, although access to the top is limited to guided tours. Beyond its prominence as a visible landmark above the valley, the peak and surrounding land have also long served as a local destination for outdoor gatherings such as picnics.
