The school and convent were constructed in 1932 to replace buildings destroyed by fire. The new school building featured an attached convent that was home to four Benedictine nuns until the school closed in 1970. It remained vacant until 1993, when a dedicated group of parishioners saw its potential as a bed and breakfast.
