At the Pottawatomie County Court House, the courthouse flagpole is dedicated to the memory of Warren B. Nelson, who served as a county commissioner from January 1978 to November 5, 1988. His dedication to public service and good government stands as a permanent example to others who strive for excellence in public office. The dedication took place on January 14, 1991.
