Dillon County's men and women, living and dead, have been honored for their courage and willingness to make the supreme sacrifice to defend the nation and liberty throughout the world in World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and the War on Terrorism after Sept. 11, 2001, with remembrance extending to many unknown, to some now filled with the taste of youth, and to some yet unborn, in tribute to their memory, patriotism, and willingness to fight for freedom yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
