Plumas-Eureka State Park in Northern California preserves both a broad mountain landscape and the remains of a Gold Rush-era mining community in the Sierra Nevada and Cascade Range. Its historic district includes surviving mining structures such as the Mohawk Stamp Mill, stables, a blacksmith shop, the mine office, the miner’s bunkhouse, and the Moriarity House, linking the park to nearby hard-rock mining centers including Jamison City and the Eureka Mine. The park also protects meadows, forests, lakes, granite peaks, and headwaters in the Middle Fork Feather River watershed. It is also notable for early North American ski racing and today serves as both a museum landscape and recreation area.
