Cylon Wildlife Area is a protected tract in northeastern St. Croix County, Wisconsin, managed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and notable as the county’s last public land in a largely private landscape. Acquired in 1975, it has a stated goal of 2,980 acres within Wisconsin’s Western Prairie region, giving it a broader conservation role beyond a single parcel. The area also reflects a longer human story: before European settlement, the Santee Sioux and Ojibwa lived nearby, and settlers arrived in the early 1850s around present-day Deer Park. Adjacent to it, the 207-acre Cylon State Natural Area adds woodlands and sedge meadows to the larger protected complex.
