Blackwater, Missouri, honors veterans past, present, and future, including Harold Dean Waller, James Paul Barton, and John Wesley Dial, who served in Vietnam; Aubrey Embrey, Glenn Alley, Charles H. Schuster, Warner Schuster, and Ralph E. Strickfaden, who served in World War II; and Joe Smallwood and Albert Junkerman, who served in World War I. Sergeant First Class James Russell Harris (Ret) received grateful recognition for his leadership in creating the veterans memorial in Blackwater and for his service to the nation and personal devotion to duty, honor, and country on Memorial Day, May 30, 2001.
