The Howard Peters Rawlings Conservatory and Botanic Gardens of Baltimore is a historic glass conservatory and botanical garden in Druid Hill Park that opened to the public on August 26, 1888. Designed by George A. Frederick, it is one of the nation’s notable surviving Victorian-era public conservatories and the second oldest surviving public glass conservatory in the United States. Its historic center is the 1888 Palm House, and it now includes five main interior areas along with expanded production houses and landscaped grounds. Recognized at the local, state, and national levels, it remains both an important architectural landmark and a living botanical collection.
