Middle Run Valley Natural Area is an eight hundred fifty-acre public park east of downtown Newark, Delaware, with forests, fields, creeks, and ponds along Middle Run, a tributary of White Clay Creek. Developed beginning in 1975 and later expanded to its present size, it forms part of a broader green corridor around Newark by bordering sections of White Clay Creek State Park and linking with other nearby parkland. Recreation focuses on hiking and bicycling, with occasional hunting, across ten trails totaling 15.76 miles. Features such as footbridges, boardwalks, and built trail elements support access, while the John C. Vansant House adds a historic presence to this important open space.
