Palm Event Center was constructed with original brick recycled from the historic Ruby Hill Winery building, which dated to 1887. Its large redwood doors were built from 100-year-old wine barrels that were disassembled and remade into the doors. The redwood was originally harvested from forest on Redwood Road in Castro Valley. Much care was taken to ensure that Palm Event Center complies with the U.S. Green Building Council's environmental design guidelines.
