From 1861 to 1865, veterans of Moscow, Clermont County, Ohio, served in the Civil War; from 1917 to 1919, men of Washington Township, Clermont County, Ohio, answered their country’s call in World War One; in World War Two, local servicemen and servicewomen served in the Armed Forces in the struggle to defeat the enemy, in words quoted from President Harry S. Truman as the most severe task one can be called upon to perform; and later generations from the community also served in Korea, Vietnam, and Desert Storm. The roll includes those named from each conflict, including some identified as killed in action, and the dedication was made on July 4, 1993, in honor of those who served.
