Two five-acre farm tracts east of this site became closely tied to the Wray family when Fred and Georgie Wray acquired one tract in 1929 and their son, Stanley O. Wray Sr., purchased the other in 1937, on land whose original deed dated back to the Virginia Militia. Together they worked the land and created joyful memories with their Stringtown Road neighbors, relatives, and church family. In 1942 Stanley married Betty A. Gibboney, a longtime Stringtown Road neighbor, and together they laughed and labored while teaching their three children, Stanley Jr. (Sonny), Carolyn, and Diana, about a loving, caring God. In 1957 Stanley and his family helped establish the Southwestern Church of Christ, now located at 3767 Grove City Road. After 75 years of living on the land, Stanley sold his beloved home in 2005 as Grove City grew.
