Manzano Peak is the highest summit in the Manzano Mountains of central New Mexico, standing in the Manzano Wilderness within the Mountainair Ranger District of Cibola National Forest. About 7 miles southwest of Manzano and 18 miles east-southeast of Belen, it forms the dramatic southern anchor of the range. Rising roughly 3,900 feet in only 3 miles from its western base, the peak has an unusually abrupt profile. Though below the tree line, its summit offers broad views east, south, and west. It is commonly reached from the east by Trail 80, the Kayser Trail, connecting with Crest Trail 170.
