The property belonged to the Ursuline Nuns in 1727, was sold to Gui Soniat Dufossat around 1778, and was sold by the Dufossat family to Pierre Lacoste in 1796. It was seized by a British force in December 1814, and U.S. forces under Gen. John Coffee routed the British in a counterattack. In 1856 it became Villere property.
