Kelch Aviation Museum at Brodhead Airport in Wisconsin is devoted to the Golden Age of Aviation and grew from Alfred Kelch’s private collection of vintage aircraft. After Alfred Kelch died in 2004 and his wife Lois in 2009, a trust turned the collection into a public museum. Fundraising began in 2016, a major donation in 2017 enabled construction, and the museum opened in 2021. Its exhibits preserve aircraft history through vintage planes, engines, a recreation of Bernard Pietenpol’s workshop, a flight simulator, and the Wisconsin Aviation Hall of Fame collection. Surrounded by an active airport, it remains part of a living community of vintage-aircraft enthusiasts.
