Daingerfield State Park is a 506.913-acre state park in the Piney Woods of East Texas centered on 80-acre Lake Daingerfield. Created after a 1935 land donation, the site was developed by Civilian Conservation Corps companies that built the dam, formed the lake, and replanted forest damaged by early timbering, leading to the park’s 1938 opening. Its pine-and-oak woods and lake support fish, birds, and other wildlife, while its long-standing purpose has been simple outdoor recreation. Fishing, boating, swimming, camping, hiking, and nature study remain central there, supported by trails, campsites, cabins, and lakeside facilities updated over time.
