The house at 317 Keever Street, one of the oldest in Lebanon, was built by Pomeroy Stoddard in 1829. A successful merchant, he helped make Lebanon a “Beautiful Town.” Perhaps as a reminder of his native Vermont, the home was built in the New England Colonial style. In the 1880's, Abraham Keever, a farmer turned grocer, owned it. Situated at the western foot of the Floraville Historic District, for over 120 years this colonial farmhouse was the only residence on Keever Street. In 1878, when Abe Keever owned it, it was said to be on “Cincinnati Pike near Orchard Avenue.” The address in 1900 was considered simply “Keever Lane.” In March 1862, Floraville Hill and the house were annexed by Lebanon.
