St. Johns Lutheran Church's congregation constructed this church building in 1875. In 1902, it was moved to land purchased by the church for future development. A new church was constructed and dedicated in 1904. After the congregation moved into the new structure, this building was used as a school and meeting house. Pastors who served the church from 1875 to 1904 were J.M. Hieber, George Gotsch, and Rudolph Schroth.
