Blue Angels Peak is a 4,552-foot mountain in the Sierra Juárez of Southern California, just north of the United States–Mexico border near Interstate 8 and the San Diego–Imperial county line. Though not especially high by California standards, it is significant as the highest point in Imperial County. A 500 kV power line crossing its northern foothills adds a modern feature to the desert-mountain setting. The peak takes its name from the Blue Angels, the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron based at a nearby naval air facility in El Centro, linking this remote summit to the Imperial Valley’s military aviation history.
