Dover Dam is a concrete dam in the Muskingum Valley, one of a series designed for flood control, navigation improvement, and water conservation. The dam is 820 feet long and 69 feet high, with a drainage area of 1397 square miles and a permanent pool elevation of 874 feet. It has 18 gates, including 12 that are 7 feet by 7 feet and 6 that are 5 feet by 10 feet. The spillway elevation is 916 feet. The dam contains 54,678 cubic yards of earth fill, 9,998 cubic yards of rock fill, and 100,856 cubic yards of concrete.
