Beautiful Mountain, or Dziłkʼi Hózhóonii, is a summit in the Chuska Mountains of northwestern New Mexico on the Navajo Nation, about 26 miles southwest of Shiprock in the Four Corners region. It is the highest point in San Juan County and holds importance beyond its elevation. In Navajo tradition, it forms the feet of a great mythic male figure whose body is the rest of the Chuska Mountains, whose head is Chuska Peak, and whose legs are the Carrizo Mountains. Shiprock is associated with what that figure carries. Beautiful Mountain remains significant as part of this larger sacred geography.
