Chesapeake Arboretum is a 51-acre non-profit public garden in Chesapeake, Virginia, established in 1996 at 624 Oak Grove Road. It combines cultivated gardens with a larger natural landscape that includes a mature hardwood forest, a farmhouse, and theme and demonstration gardens. Much of the property is devoted to a trail system covering about 45 acres and extending roughly 3.5 miles. Starr Run flows through the grounds and helps define the character of the site, with 11 bridges carrying the trails across the stream. The result is a place that blends formal garden spaces with the feel of a wooded preserve.
