Little Big Econ State Forest
Nature
Little Big Econ State Forest is a protected Central Florida landscape of 5,048 acres near Oviedo and Geneva, including the separate Kilbee Tract along the St. Johns River. Named for the Little Econlockhatchee and Econlockhatchee rivers, it is centered on the Outstanding Florida Water designation of the Econlockhatchee River, which runs through the property. The forest supports low-impact recreation such as hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, birdwatching, and picnicking. A former Flagler Railroad corridor became the Flagler Trail, with old trestle pilings still visible in the river, and part of the Florida National Scenic Trail follows this route.
