El Dorado State Park in the Flint Hills of Kansas lies along both shores of El Dorado Reservoir and, at about 4,000 acres, is the state's largest state park. Its broad appeal centers on lake recreation and extensive visitor facilities, including 1,100 campsites, swimming beaches, group shelters, a group campground, an amphitheater, trails, and a horse campground. Fishing is a major attraction, with crappie, largemouth bass, walleye, channel catfish, and flathead found in favored areas around the reservoir and nearby waters. It is also regarded as one of Kansas's most handicapped accessible parks, helping make it a major outdoor destination.
