Otsego Lake State Park is a 62-acre public recreation area on the southeast shore of Otsego Lake in northern Michigan. Established in 1920 as one of Michigan’s first 13 state parks, it grew soon after the State Parks Commission was created in 1919. In the 1930s, the Civilian Conservation Corps improved the park, including building a wood-frame bathhouse in 1934 that reflects the impact of New Deal work programs on park development. The park continues to serve as an active lakeside destination, offering swimming, fishing, picnicking, boating, camping, a boat launch, and a 155-site campground for both day visitors and longer stays.
