A mound erected in 1897 and an urn placed in 1910 honor 23 men from Hartford who died while in service: John Miner, George Minor, and James Wythe of the 22nd Infantry; John Burton and Albert Higley of the 16th Artillery; John Hughes and William Orcutt of the 93rd Infantry; Frank Archambault, John Bell, Byron Briggs, Thomas Clark, John Daicy, Adolphus Jefway, James Norton, John Patrick, Hiram Thomas, Norman Weer, and John Wright of Company E, 123rd Infantry; Thomas Dickinson of Company H, 123rd Infantry; Clarke Waite of Company K, 123rd Infantry; Albert King of Company I, 123rd Infantry; William Brown of the 186th Infantry; and Charles Covell of the Navy.
