Plant 2
Industry
1
First constructed in 1970, Plant 2 became part of a pivotal period in agriculture when farmers began investing more in new technologies than in labor and land. This shift opened the marketplace to forage innovations such as the round baler, invented by founder Gary Vermeer to make haying a less labor-intensive one-man job. Historically, the team in Plant 2 has focused on forage products that help customers feed and fuel their communities. Today, the team continues to build many forage products, including the large round baler, bale processors, bale wrappers, and rakes, and it is also home to the self-propelled baler.
