Cedar Falls Park is a 90-acre recreation area on the Reedy River in Upstate South Carolina, where a broad, low cascade gives the site its name. Long before the park was created, Cherokee people used the shoals as a hunting campsite and river ford. In the early 19th century, Hudson Berry acquired the property and expanded a dam to power several mills and a cotton gin; a larger dam built in 1910 later generated electricity for Fork Shoals Mill, and traces of both dams remain. Established in 2011, the park preserves a landscape where natural beauty, Indigenous use, and industrial history meet.
