1
Allentown Station was built in 1943 by the Pennsylvania RR. It was closed and abandoned in 1964 when passenger service ended on the PRR line. In 1975 it was donated to NJMT and moved to Allaire. Allenwood, New Jersey, lies 3 miles east of Allaire on PRR’s Freehold and Jamesburg Agricultural RR, which ran from Sea Girt through Allaire to Jamesburg and Monmouth Jct. Because of wartime shortages, much of the building was constructed of recycled lumber.
