The Amwell Line - 1704
History
Surveyed by Colonel John Reading, the Amwell Line extended from the Delaware River to the South Branch. It was the northern border of old Amwell Township, and the area to the northwest was deemed uninhabited. It serves as the present border of Franklin and Raritan Townships, and Queen Ann of England referred to it in 1708.
