The Ohio Theatre was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 by the United States Department of the Interior, was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1977 by the National Park Service and the United States Department of the Interior for possessing national significance in commemorating the history of the United States of America, and was recognized as the Official Theatre for the State of Ohio by a joint resolution of the Ohio Legislature during the 112th General Assembly.
