USC Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena, California, is devoted to the arts and cultures of Asia and the Pacific Islands and serves as both a university museum and a public cultural institution. Founded in 1971 by the Pacificulture Foundation, it occupies the 1926 Grace Nicholson Treasure House of Oriental Art, a Chinese imperial palace-style building designed by Marston, Van Pelt & Maybury and later donated to the City of Pasadena for art and cultural purposes. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the museum holds more than 15,000 objects spanning over 5,000 years and connects a distinctive historic structure with artistic traditions across a vast region.
