The Tennessee Museum of Aviation in Sevierville, Tennessee, combines aircraft displays with exhibits on aviation history and the Tennessee Aviation Hall of Fame. It grew from two efforts: Bob Minter’s founding of the hall of fame in 1996 and R. Neal Melton’s start of museum construction at Gatlinburg–Pigeon Forge Airport three years later. After the two organizations merged, the combined museum opened on 15 December 2001 in a 50,000-square-foot facility. Its exhibits include an aviation timeline and the history of military chaplains, and much of its aircraft collection has come through loans. In April 2025, it was approved to relocate to Lebanon Municipal Airport.
