Trickham, Texas, stood on the military road from Fort Mason to Fort Belknap in the 1850s, where Johnston, Van Dorn, Lee, and other army men camped. In the 1860’s, John Chisum gathered herds of cattle here. It was the last town on the Western Trail to Kansas.
