Lake Casa Blanca International State Park is a 525-acre public recreation area in Laredo, Texas, centered on Lake Casa Blanca and managed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department since 1991. Set in the Tamaulipan mezquital ecoregion, it features South Texas brush, cacti, and drought-tolerant plants. Beneath this landscape lies evidence of a much older tropical swamp, with Eocene fossils of primates, fish, and reptiles showing how dramatically the environment changed over time. The park is an important outdoor space for swimming, boating, fishing, picnicking, sports, and birdwatching, and it also supports wildlife including deer, jackrabbits, and the threatened Texas horned lizard.
