The Folsom estate was the home of Joshua Marion Folsom and his wife, Eulala Dunnavant Folsom, and the birthplace of James Elisha Folsom on October 9, 1908. He later served as the 46th Governor of Alabama from January 1947 to 1951 and as the 48th Governor of Alabama from January 1955 to 1959. His aim was to make life in Alabama better for every citizen.
