Zwang Peak
Nature
Zwang Peak is a mountain in California’s Diablo Range, about eight miles southwest of Avenal and roughly twelve miles from Interstate 5, with a summit of 3,081 feet and the headwaters of Garza Creek rising nearby. It was named for cattle rancher Jake Zwang, who was born in 1880 and came to the area in 1906 to establish a ranch southwest of Avenal. The peak reflects the ranching history of this part of the interior Coast Ranges and remains a notable geographic landmark in the surrounding landscape.
